New Executive Board at Leiden University
Leiden University has a new Executive Board. Since 8 February 2021, Annetje Ottow has been the new President and Hester Bijl the new Rector Magnificus of the Board, while Martijn Ridderbos has continued in his role as Vice-Chairman.
As new President of the Board, Professor Annetje Ottow is responsible for strategy, knowledge transfer, alliances and external relations, international relations, communication, alumni policy, social safety, diversity & inclusion and sustainability at the University. Annetje Ottow is also point of contact for campus development in the centre of Leiden. She is also Professor of Public Economic Law at Leiden Leiden Law School.
Professor Hester Bijl is responsible for the teaching and research at the University. Professorial appointments and academic integrity belong to the teaching portfolio. Hester Bijl is also the point of contact for LERU, EUniWell and the development of Leiden Bio Science Park. Bijl is Professor of Numerical Mathematics at the Mathematical Institute in Leiden.
Martijn Ridderbos continues in his role as Vice-Chairman of the Board. He is responsible for the portfolios of finance, real estate, IT and research infrastructure, HRM and physical safety at the University. Martijn Ridderbos is also the point of contact for the development of Campus the Hague.
