Student Aline-Priscillia: ‘I am an odd academic, I’m not very attached to outcomes’
In the new video series 'The World of Linguistics', alumni and academics talk about their passion for their field. Student Aline-Priscillia is particularly curious about how language is processed in the brain.
Aline-Priscillia wrote her thesis about cognitive neuroscience of language. ‘I am a very odd new academic, in the sense that I’m not very attached to outcomes. I am mainly concerned with generating questions. How should the structure of language bias or influence its processing by your brains? When you hear a sentence that has a semantic error, for example: “I like green clouds” the brain responds to that. I do analyse the brain readouts from the EEG’.
