The Algorithms and Software Technology (AST) research programme performs fundamental research in the areas of algorithm design and analysis.

In 2022, LIACS created the G. Rozenberg Research Award in honor of its 25th anniversary. This new award is intended for promising PhD students of LIACS.

The Education Committee of the Bachelor Computer Science and the Bachelor Data Science&Artificial Intelligence is concerned with evaluating all bachelor programs at LIACS: Computer Science, its Computer Science & Economics and Bioinformatics and the Bachelor DS&AI.
