Op 27 mei organiseert Stichting Zenobia een publiekscongres in de Openbare Bibliotheek te Amsterdam, getiteld "De Zijderoutes: Netwerk van Ontmoetingen". Tijdens dit congres behandelen zes experts verschillende gebieden van de Zijderoutes, van de Oudheid tot de Vroegmoderne Tijd.

Een recent onderzoek over veeplundering in het Waza National Park in Kameroen heeft aangetoond dat het conflict tussen mensen en leeuwen een belangrijke factor bljift in de uitputting van de leeuwen populatie. Het onderzoek werd gepubliceerd in het gezaghebbende blad Oryx.

Bijna vijf jaar na de laatste ontmoeting hopen we opnieuw samen te komen met alle medioneerlandici. Ditmaal wordt de Dag van de Medioneerlandistiek georganiseerd in Nijmegen door de Radboud Universiteit, op vrijdag 24 maart. Het thema luidt: ‘De medioneerlandistiek en de wereld van nu’.
