Het spanningsveld tussen literatuur en recht, daar wil Frans-Willem Korsten zich als kersverse hoogleraar Literatuur, Cultuur en Recht mee bezighouden. Dat betekent onderzoek doen, maar zeker ook onderwijs geven. ‘Den Haag is van doorslaggevend belang voor de geesteswetenschappen.’

Recht en Literatuur Leiden (RLL) wil gedurende elk collegejaar jaar lezingen organiseren over bekende en minder bekende literaire werken. In de lezingen worden deze kunstwerken op filosofische wijze in verband gesteld met de theorie en de praktijk van het recht.

Afgelopen semester vond alweer de zesde editie van de collegeserie Duurzaamheid & Recht plaats. Ook dit jaar is de serie goedbezocht.

Ieder kind heeft er belang bij dat zijn juridische positie zoveel als mogelijk vanaf zijn geboorte is geregeld. De vele verschillende gezinssituaties die vandaag de dag in Nederland voorkomen, maken het nodig dat wetgeving en beleid op het terrein van ouderschap en gezag worden aangepast.
