Leidse studenten redelijk positief over online onderwijs
De studenten van de Universiteit Leiden zijn tevreden over het online onderwijs dat ze in het tweede semester kregen. Opvallend is dat ze meer tevreden waren met online kennisoverdracht dan met het onderwijs gericht op de verwerking van de stof. Dit blijkt uit een uitgebreide evaluatie.

Studenten halen derde prijs internationaal programmeerkampioenschap
Team Johans Angels van drie studenten van de Universiteit Leiden heeft zondag 21 november in Bremen de derde prijs behaald op het Noord West Europees kampioenschap programmeren. Door in vijf uur zeven algoritmische problemen op te lossen, wisten de jongens uit Leiden 64 teams achter zich te laten.

Gedenksteen wijst op roerige geschiedenis Indonesische studenten
Een nieuwe gedenksteen op de gevel van een studentenhuis in de Hugo de Grootstraat herinnert aan de tientallen Indonesische studenten die voor de Tweede Wereldoorlog in Leiden studeerden. Een deel daarvan werd actief in het verzet en sommigen moesten dat met de dood bekopen.

Prijswinnaars stimuleren contact met internationale studenten
Ideeën genoeg om contacten tussen Nederlandse en buitenlandse studenten te stimuleren. Drie voorstellen zijn op 7 november 2013 gehonoreerd met een prijs. De winnaars ontvangen een bijdrage uit het Van Bergen Fund om de plannen uit te voeren.
