Poetry workshop I (English)

Wednesday 19:00-21:00 h (plus homework assignments)

Docent
Helena Grande

For whom
Anyone interested in writing poetry.

Content
Have you ever wanted to write poetry, but didn't know where to start? Or are you looking for a community of poets with whom you can share your work in a supportive and safe environment?

This writing class is for anyone interested in experimenting with language. We’ll create a relaxed environment to explore different forms of poetry, the basics of line breaks, the use of negative space on the page, and figurative language. We’ll also pay attention to how we engage with our surroundings and learn to register our feelings and sensations.

Each class, we will pair readings with exercises and prompts aiming to write and give each other feedback during class.

Poetry is one of the oldest and most gratifying tools to express yourself, and you’re never too old or too young to embark on a poetry class! Come and share your words with us!

Returning participants are welcome to join for a refresher, or they may go directly to Poetry Workshop II: Creative Process and Voice.
