De-registration - other modes of study
If you are a non-regular student at Leiden University, or following courses via another mode of study, different de-registration procedures are in place.
If you wish to deregister from Leiden University as a guest student during an academic year, you can arrange this by sending an e-mail to the central student administration. Please state your name, student number and desired moment of deregistration. Your registration automatically ends after one academic year.
As an auditing student at Leiden University you pay tuition fees for a whole academic year (September to August). Your student registration will expire automatically at the end of the academic year so there is no need to request de-registration.
Contract students should de-register directly with their study programme. Procedures can vary from programme to programme. Contact your programme’s education administration office for assistance.
