How to reach Schouwburgstraat during Prinsjesdag

17 September 2018

On Tuesday 18 September, Budget Day or Prinsjesdag as the Dutch call it, will be held in The Hague. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima will drive in their glass carriage from their palace to the hall where King Willem-Alexander will read the King's Speech.

Schouwburgstraat is located near the area where the King and Queen will be driven through. Therefore, the nearby Casuariestraat, among other roads in the area, will be closed on 18 September from 6 AM to 3 PM for motor traffic.

If you need to be on the Schouwburgstraat on 18 September, we advise you to come by foot or by bike. Keep in mind that it may take you longer than usual to come to the Schouwburstraat. It is not recommended to travel by car. All the parking garages in the area will be closed.

Tram lines 1, 15, 16 and 17 and bus routes 22 and 24 will temporarily drive a different route on Budget Day.
