Job opportunity: Faculty member of the Leiden University Student platform 2019-2020
For the 2019-2020 academic year, the Leiden University Student platform (LUS) is looking for an Archaeology representative from the 1st of September onwards. As a LUS representative, you will represent the interests of all the students of the Faculty of Archaeology and provide advice to the Executive Board of the university. Would you like to defend the interests of the students of your faculty? Are you interested in student wellbeing, do you have a broad network within our faculty, and would you like to improve the education at Leiden University? You might be the just who we’re looking for!

The LUS consists of seven faculty members (one per faculty) and one chair. The Leiden University Student Platform (LUS) advises the Executive Board on matters of education and student affairs. The platform is also responsible for awarding of the Leiden Teaching prize (Leidse Onderwijsprijs).
The platform brings together different groups of students for ad hoc thematic meetings/ breakfast clubs, which address current issues arising from Leiden’s teaching agenda. During these meetings students get the opportunity to discuss those issues with members of the Executive Board.
The position requires approximately 3 hours per week, for which you will receive a compensation.
Who are we looking for?
- You have a large network within your faculty;
- You are interested in actualities and student politics at Leiden University;
- You have the ability to defend the interests of the students;
- You are aware of the responsibilities that come with the membership of the LUS
