Shorter opening hours buildings Faculty of Science
The buildings of the Faculty of Science currently have limited access due to the corona crisis. From Monday 30 March, the buildings will also have shorter opening hours on weekdays and close earlier than usual. Opening hours will be:
|Snellius||8.30 – 18.00 hrs|
|Gorlaeus/Huygens/Oort/LMUY||8.00 – 18.00 hrs|
|Sylvius||8.00 – 18.00 hrs|
|Gorlaeus Lecture Hall
(for recordings for remote education)
|8.00 – 17.00 hrs|
The reception will announce the closure of the building shortly before 18.00 hrs. Everyone is expected to have left the building by 18.00 hrs.
Evenings and weekends
The regime that started earlier applies to the evenings and weekends: the buildings are closed, with the exception of employees who are registered with the Faculty Board for providing vital functions.
Who has access
Due to the corona crisis, employees of Leiden University are expected to work from home. An exception applies only to employees who provide vital facilities. However, they may only enter the buildings with the explicit permission of their institute director or head of department. This measure will last until 6 April and will be extended if the Cabinet and RIVM order this via the national guidelines.
Collection of materials from the buildings is permitted within the specified opening hours. This requires permission from the manager. Please note that the Gorlaeus, Huygens, Oort and LMUY buildings are currently only accessible via the single turnstile in the main entrance.
