From 3 August: extra step for safe log-in to Office 365, Teams, OneDrive and Skype
From 3 August, logging into Office 365, Teams, OneDrive and Skype for Business will be even safer with the introduction of an extra step. You will be asked to confirm your log-in via an app on your telephone: Microsoft Authenticator.
To do now: download the app
Download the Microsoft Authenticator app on your telephone now via de App store (iOS) or Play store (Android). There’s no need to open or set up the app yet. You can only do so from 3 August onwards.
Prefer not to use the app?
If you are unable or prefer not to log-in via the app, you can instead log-in with a text message or automated phone call. Read how to set this up in the alternative log-in methods manual.
The university has a processing agreement with Microsoft. The privacy of your personal data is therefore guaranteed, also in the authenticator app.
To do from 3 August: set up the authenticator
- The following steps will take 15 to 30 minutes, so don’t wait till the last minute when you need to be logged in.
- Log out of Office 365, Teams, Onedrive and Skype for Business on all your devices.
- Set up the extra security step by following the instructions in the manual.
