Clinical Psychology: Registration closed early
The Institute of Psychology have decided to close the registration for the master’s specialisation in Clinical Psychology, as there are currently too many applications. We foresee substantial problems if that many students would start in the upcoming academic year. In order to protect the integrity and quality of the master’s specialisation’s curriculum, the influx has to be reduced. Otherwise, the time it will take to find an internship position will exceed nine months, and waiting lists for practical seminars and thesis supervision would become unacceptably long.
Registration for other specialisations in the master’s programme in Psychology remains open till 15 June 2021. There are alternative clinical specialisations that qualify students for post-master training in Mental Health Care psychology, e.g. Health and Medical Psychology; Child and Adolescent Psychology; and School Psychology. For more information, please contact the student representatives named on the respective websites.
We sincerely apologize and count on your understanding that this unconventional measure is absolutely necessary to preserve the integrity and quality of the specialisation for its students. Should you have any questions, please contact us via email ApplicationClinicalPsy@fsw.leidenuniv.nl.
