Course and exam enrolment

From 15 December (bachelor) or 16 December (master) you will be able to enrol for courses and exams in the second semester of the academic year 2021-2022.

Exceptions

This information is not applicable to all study programmes and all students. The exceptions are:

  • LUMC students do not need to enrol for courses, as they are enrolled for the whole academic year at the start of the first semester.
  • Faculty of Humanities students will use the new student portal for course enrolment, and will receive a separate message about this.
  • First-year bachelor students do not always have to enrol, the education administration department will do this for you; you will receive a separate message about this.

Start dates

For bachelor’s students

From 15 December 13.00 hrs onwards for all courses except Faculty of Humanities courses. For Faculty of Humanities courses from 15 December 15:00 hrs onwards.

For master’s students

From 16 December 13.00 hrs onwards for all courses except Faculty of Humanities courses. For Faculty of Humanities courses from 16 December 15:00 hrs onwards.

Ticket system

Enrolment via uSis works with a ticket system. This will monitor how busy it is and only be active when necessary. In this way we can prevent uSis becoming overloaded if too many students try to enrol at once.

How it works

  • If you try to access uSis Selfservice in a busy period when many other students are logging in, you will be placed in a queue.
  • Once it’s your turn, you will have 10 minutes to log in. If you fail to do so, you will be put back in the queue.
  • Once you are logged in, you can enrol in the usual way.
Queue from 12.30 hrs

The ticket system will be activated at 12:30 hrs. If you are logged in before 12:30, you will automatically be logged out.

Enrolment via Leiden University app

There is no ticket system in place for enrolment via the Leiden University app. You can log in directly. However, be aware that the app may be slow if a lot of students try to enrol at the same time.

Prevent unnecessary queues

Try to avoid logging in at 13:00 hrs (or 15:oo hrs for Humanities courses) unless this is really necessary. In this way you can help prevent unnecessary busy periods and long queues.

Questions

Do you have any questions about the enrolment process? You can visit the Helpdesk Portal both before and whilst enrolling.

Ticket system for entire uSis Self Service

The ticket system is intended to help the enrolment process run more smoothly during peak periods. However, it will apply to the entire uSis Self Service area. This means that if you try to log into Self Service during a busy period, whether this is to enrol or for any other activity, the ticket system will be active and you will be placed in a queue.
