The university network will not be available and buildings will be closed on Saturday 31 July
On 31 July, the heart of the university network will be replaced. This maintenance will make the network safer, more future-proof and faster. The university network will be unavailable on Saturday, 31 July from 09.00 and this will last the whole day (with possible extension into Sunday 1 August).
What will this mean for you?
Both at home and on campus, you will not have access to the university network or the buildings during the maintenance work. All systems for which you need to log in to with your ULCN credentials will not be available You will not have access to Brightspace. The university’s website will also not be available and all university buildings will be closed on that day.
Tip: Plan your work so that you will not need access to the university network on Saturday 31 July.
Will you be able to work remotely?
- The university network will not be available. If you use Remote Workplace (Citrix): access to Remote Workplace will also not be possible.
- Office365 and OneDrive will most probably work as normal, but we cannot guarantee this.
- MS Teams will probably also be available, both the app and the web version. But if you are requested to log in again to a Microsoft service, this might not work.
Will you have access to your email?
You will probably have access to your emails. All student accounts have been migrated to Outlook in Office365. Again, if you are requested to log on to a Microsoft service, then possibly this may fail.
Will you be able to use Brightspace?
It will not be possible to use Brightspace.
Phoning within the university will not be possible.
