Update 17 January 2022: Education on campus possible again

17 January 2022

We are happy that on Friday 14 January it was announced that from today educational activities are permitted again on campus and that we can meet each other again. The most important points for our faculty are set out below.

Follow the basic rules and adhere to the quarantine guidelines. After all, the most important thing remains everyone’s health and welfare.

  • There is a maximum group size of 75 students for each separate room. Examinations are exempted from this rule.
  • In all our buildings, a distance of 1.5 metres from one another must be observed where possible and you must keep to the indicated walking routes.
  • Facemasks must be worn by staff and students within University buildings at all times, even when you are seated. Disposable facemasks (type II) are preferred.
  • Scheduled teaching for blocks 3 and 4 stays as planned.
  • Up-to-date information related to teaching is posted on Brightspace.
  • Study associations may hold education-related activities after discussing this with the assessor and receiving the assessor’s approval.
  • Study spaces for our students are available throughout the whole University. A space must be booked via the online booking system (Share Desk).
  • All students who are due to graduate will receive up-to-date information from the Education Information Centre (OIC) about graduation ceremonies.
  • As a preventive measure, we request staff and students to take a self-test twice a week. Students and staff at our University can order self-tests on line free of charge via zelftestonderwijs.nl.

  • We urge everyone to get vaccinations and boosters to protect against the coronavirus. Students and staff in Leiden can arrange this via the GGD Hollands-Midden. Students and staff in The Hague should contact GGD Haaglanden (Dutch website only).
  • Always do the Corona Check before coming to our buildings.
  • While at the campus, keep to the campus protocol and follow the instructions in the buildings.
  • This is a very (mentally) difficult time for many. A lot of information and support is available to help you during these times.
  • If you have any concerns, please contact your study adviser.

If you have questions about the measures, visit the website for all up-to-date information.
