LBC wins NSE study association competition

21 March 2022

De Leidse Biologen Club has won the competition between the study associations with 44.25%! This was announced by assessor Joost Barendse last Thursday 17 March 2022 during the weekly drinks in the Science Club.

Battle between the study associations

The six W&N study associations made an effort to get as many students as possible to fill in the NSE. They sent emails to their members and used their social media channels. The Leiden Biologists Club (LBC) achieved the highest percentage of completed surveys: 44.25 percent of their members completed the NSE. LBC receives a contribution from the faculty for an activity for their members. This put them one step ahead of Shift, which ended up with 43.09 percent. De Leidsche Flesch, CDL and SV LIFE and Aesculapius achieved percentages of 40.02 percent, 35.13 percent, 34.75 percent and 33.82 percent.

NSE

In seven weeks time, the NSE was completed by 12,493 students at Leiden University - a response rate of almost 36.6%. At the Faculty of Science, the NSE was also completed by a large number of students: almost 40% of the students gave their opinion.

Feedback for study programmes

In the NSE, students give their opinion on all aspects of their education, for example the curriculum, teachers, teaching methods and communication. With the results from the NSE, the university can identify which aspects are going well and which need improvement.
