Vacancy student assistant – Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies

The Grotius Centre for International Legal Studies, Leiden Law School is recruiting two student assistants to support its work in The Hague office. The positions are available as follows:

  1. 1 February 2023 – 31 July 2023;
  2. 1 April 2023 – 31 July 2023.

Job description

The Student Assistant (SA) will provide support to the Grotius Centre Project Managers in organizing and coordinating the 2023 activities of the Centre including: the Telders International Law Moot Court Competition, the Duke-Leiden Institute in Global and Transnational Law, and the Grotius Centre Summer courses.

The tasks of the SA will include, inter alia, :

  • Dealing with email inquiries;
  • Preparing information packages for stakeholders, such as programme & information booklets;
  • Preparing supporting materials for participants, such as course readings, draft information emails;
  • Creating and maintaining databases and records;
  • Submitting reports and preparing presentations as assigned;
  • Managing the social media accounts;
  • Attending all activities online/in-person.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor/Master programme at Leiden University. Enrollment in a law programme is preferable, but not mandatory.
  • Applicants must already have the right to work in the Netherlands;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications, in particular Word and Excel;
  • Flexible availability;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to interact well with others;
  • Good planning and organizational skills;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Experience with social media is an asset;
  • Working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop is an asset.
