Did you find it helpful to attend an orientation activity while making your study choice? Do you have a passion for your study and want to share your experience with others? Then this might be a job for you! For the position of Student Ambassador IBP we are looking for an IBP student who likes to help prospective students in making their study choice.

You will work with the psychology department and university marketing staff to help prepare orientation activities that help prospective students in their decision process. You will meet with prospective students, give presentations at promotional events and host campus tours. Additionally, you will keep contact with your network of IBP students helpers, who will help you with all of these activities.

Our current student ambassador will start with her masters, leaving a job opening in the communication team of the Institute of Psychology from September 2023 on. Are you an internationally oriented, outgoing and proactive IBP student, available for at least one year and curious about this position? Then contact us!

You are:

  • An excellent communicator in the English language, preferably with a working knowledge of the Dutch language (meetings at the faculty level are in Dutch)
  • Proactive: You like to come up with new ideas and put them into action
  • Responsible and able to work independently
  • Insured by a Dutch health insurance company
  • Involved and motivated in your studies and time for a parttime job at the side
  • Interested in organising events and activities
  • Willing to present to large groups of prospective students
  • Available for a few days of training during the summer

The position entails:

  • Giving presentations to prospective students about the study programme
  • Hiring, coordinating and motivating your student helpers
  • Helping organise promotional, and orientation events (Open Days, Experience Days, Student for a Day events, campus tours)
  • Attending regular communication meetings
  • Selecting and managing your student helpers
  • Maintaining e-mail contact
  • Answering questions of prospective students via Unibuddy
  • Involvement in setting up e.g. newsletters and social media posts
  • Other possible tasks related to communication, information and marketing

We offer:

The opportunity to work together with a fun team of other psychology students, other ambassadors and the communication team of Psychology. You can plan your own hours (8 hours per week).

You will be given a temporary contract starting 1 September without the prospect of permanent employment and you will earn approximately €14 per hour gross. It may be possible to extend the contract for an additional academic year if both parties agree and your programme allows.

In the two months before the start of your contract, you will be trained by the current student ambassador. You get to know the activities and learn how to organise them.
