Leiden University will be participating in the first Leiden Canal Pride on Saturday 2 September. With the theme “My University, My Pride”, we want to represent the fact that throughout the diversity of people, faculties, and cities associated with Leiden University, there is one big factor that connects all of us: the university itself.

We cannot celebrate Leiden University’s diversity without you, the people who make our community so beautiful and strong! The boat has capacity for 60 persons and to make this as fair as possible, the LGBT+ network created a sign-up form through which you can register for a chance to be on our boat. The deadline to sign up is Friday August 4.
Please note that participation is free of costs. We don’t require any contribution to be on our boat nor do we expect you to make other costs associated with the pride parade.

There is no celebration without great music, and we are proud to announce that the music for our Pride Boat will be mixed by Leiden University College student Juna Conde-Segal. JUNA is a queer Cuban/American artist, born and raised in Berlin. Her style is a vibrant fusion of rhythms that are influenced by Reggaeton, House and Techno, resulting in infectious hard-hitting grooves.
