Check at entrance KOG; apply for your LU-Card on time

29 August 2023

From the start of academic year 2023/2024, all students and staff will be asked to show their University ID card (LU-Card), at the entrance to the Kamerlingh Onnes Building (KOG).

Are you a (new) student and don’t have a LU-Card yet? No worries: you have until Wednesday 27 September at the latest to obtain your LU-Card. From Thursday 28 September, all students, whether a new student or not, must show their LU-Card at the entrance. Until then, to gain access to the KOG you can show the following documents (on your phone):

  •  your timetable on the Leiden University app; or
  • the status of your University enrolment in Studielink; please make sure you are logged in before entering the KOG.

Applying for a LU-Card
Students can apply for a LU-Card online here. Please note it can take around two weeks to get the card. So make sure you apply for it as soon as possible, 5 September at the latest. If you need help or have any questions, please contact the LU-Card Support Desk via 071 - 527 1212, or send an email to lu-card@leidenuniv.nl.

Take it with you!
This procedure will ensure that only authorised persons can access University buildings, creating a safe study and work environment for all. To avoid queues at the entrance, please have your LU-Card or other proof ready to be checked when you come to the KOG.

Thank you for cooperating!
