Bachelor's students with good study results can apply for an interdisciplinary Bachelor Honours Class regardless of whether or not you are a Honours College participant. Leiden University wishes to offer motivated students an opportunity to add an in-depth extracurricular element to their studies.

Registration Bachelor Honours Classes now open!

You can apply for the Honours Classes in the first semester until Tuesday 12 September 23.59 hrs. You can browse this semester's selection of classes in the prospectus.

Bachelor Honours Classes are high-level and interdisciplinary, and focus on complex scientific and societal issues. Students who follow the Honours College programme are required to follow a Bachelor Honours Class as a compulsory part of their programme. There are also some Bachelor Honours Class spots available for third-year students who do not (or no longer) follow the Honours College programme.

Application and selection

You can apply for the Bachelor Honours Classes by clicking the button above until Tuesday 12 September 23:59 hrs. You do not have to register in uSis. You will be asked to fill in your personal information and a short motivation letter for the Bachelor Honours Classes you would like to attend.

To maintain a small-scale level of education, a limited number of applicants can participate. Hence why we offer you the option to fill in your first, second, third and fourth choice of Bachelor Honours Class. After the application period, the teachers will select students for their Bachelor Honours Class. You will be notified about the outcome via email on 25 September at the latest.
