LUC The Hague: Vacancy Student Assistant Communications and Alumni

Your tasks

In this role you will carry out various tasks related to alumni relations and general communications for LUC.

  • For alumni relations, this includes tasks such as updating LinkedIn contacts and analysis of alumni data (from LinkedIn and the alumni survey). Your tasks will include translating alumni data to an external audience, both on the LUC website and other platforms, such as Instagram and LinkedIn. In addition, we are working on storytelling related to alumni stories. Finally, you will contribute to the content for the alumni newsletter.
  • For communication, we would like to showcase more stories from current LUC students in video format, on LinkedIn and YouTube. This requires brainstorming, planning and execution.

Profile

You must be a registered student at Leiden University College with excellent command of the English language in spoken and written form. In this role, you will be required to perform administrative tasks and content creation. Therefore, we are looking for someone with storytelling capabilities, a creative use of language and who can captivate an audience. You will work a lot with Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, etc.) and Canva, so prior knowledge of this software is preferred. Ideally, you also have experience with (basic) video editing. There will be multiple tasks that you need to keep track of, so we are looking for someone who is flexible and well-organized.

Contract

You will be hired for 6 months, with the option of an extension for another 6 months. The start date is March 1, 2024, and the contract ends after Intro week in the summer of 2024; August 30, 2024. This function is for 0.15 FTE (6 hours per week), distributed over the week. These are flexible and can be arranged based on the requirements and wishes of the Recruitment and Communications office, and your schedule. The student assistant will be supervised by the Recruitment, Communication and Alumni officers.

Students with a non-EU nationality are also welcome to apply, keeping in mind that the work permit can take up to 6 weeks. All applicants must have a valid Dutch health insurance. 

The salary for this position is in scale SA3 and pays €15,87 per hour.
