Vacancy: Student assistant for Digital Humanities project

Do you think research should be accessible to everyone? Do you enjoy learning new technical skills while contributing to research in the making? Then join us on the project “Interviews Going Open! Developing Interdisciplinary Guidelines on How to Publish Qualitative Interview Data as Open Data”

You will help develop workflows to publish qualitative, potentially sensitive data from sociolinguistic interviews in open access by applying the framework of the Text Encoding Initiative and FAIR principles

Candidate profile

Applications will be considered from students in Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) with a sustained interest in Digital Humanities. Candidates should be highly proficient in English and French (minimum C1), as the data is in French. 

The following criteria are a plus, but no strict prerequisites: 

  • Demonstrable courses or term papers on relevant topics, especially sociolinguistics; 
  • Demonstrable familiarity with relevant research methods, such as using digital methods in the humanities. 

Project length and working hours

The project will last 3 to 6 months, depending on availability. The number of working hours per week can range from 5 to 10, and most of the tasks can be done remotely.
