Train strikes on Friday and Tuesday: exams will go ahead as planned!

4 June 2025

The Dutch Railways (NS) has announced a strike for this Friday (6 June) and Tuesday (10 June). This may cause a train services shutdown throughout the country.

Exams
In the event of an NS strike, exams will continue as normal. This may mean that some students will have to arrange alternative transport or stay overnight in Leiden or the surrounding area. Students who are unable to attend due to the strike can report this to the Board of Examiners (examencommissie@law.leidenuniv.nl). In case you have an exam, check Brighspace for information.

Board of Examiners
Students who were demonstrably unable to take an exam due to the strike will be referred to the retake exam. In the case of a retake exam, they can submit a reasoned and substantiated request to the Board of Examiners for a replacement exam opportunity.

60 minutes
Due to the circumstances, students may be admitted to the exam up to 60 minutes after the start, instead of the regular 45 minutes.

Questions
For questions about this, email your lecturer, and for general questions about the exam, email Exam Support (toetssupport@law.leidenuniv.nl).
