Student Assistant for the Intelligence Research Group at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs (16 hrs a week)

The Institute of Security and Global Affairs (ISGA) of the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs is looking for a:

Student Assistant to help with the administration and delivery of the Intelligence and Security Research Group’s teaching portfolio.  The Intelligence and Security Research Group at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs has two main teaching portfolios: a Minor in Intelligence Studies, and a Master’s specialisation 'track' in the Crisis and Security Management degree programme. The group also provides professional training which may also require assistance. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management of emails related to the above-mentioned teaching programmes.
  • Provide organisational assistance for specific teaching courses.
  • Assist with the administration of examinations.
  • Assist with the maintenance and communication to our alumni network.
  • Assist with the organisation of events and our professional learning portfolio.
  • Assist with the archiving and administration related to our teaching programmes.
  • Assist with research projects in the research group.
  • Assist with other ad hoc administrative tasks that should arise during the course of an academic year.

Selection Criteria

  • The candidate will be fluent in both Dutch and English.
  • The candidate will have excellent organisation and administration skills.
  • The candidate will have a professional and courteous manner in both email and in-person communication.
  • The candidate will have the ability to work in a team.

The Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs (FGGA) offers academic education in the field of Public Administration, Safety and Security, and International Relations, as well as in-depth post-academic programmes for professionals. The Institute of Security and Global Affairs (ISGA) is a scientific institute that focuses on multidisciplinary research and education within the international field of security studies. Intelligence and Security Research Group

The candidate will join the Intelligence and Security research group at the Institute of Security and Global Affairs (ISGA). Our research group is comprised of a number of academic researchers and practitioners who share a research interest in intelligence studies.  Our core teaching activities within ISGA focus upon the Minor in Intelligence Studies and the new specialization track in Intelligence and National Security on the Crisis and Security Management (CSM) MSc programme. We also occasionally contribute to other teaching programmes within ISGA. You can find more information about the research group on the website.

Terms and conditions

The period will be from August 2025 to August 2026 for 16 hours a week.

 The contract and the conditions will be passed through the employment agency Jobmotion and the salary will depend on the study year.

  • SA2 bachelor € 17,73* p/h
  • SA3 bachelor €17,89* p/h
  • SA4 Master € 18,07*p/h

*Gross per hour
