Job Vacancy: Student Information Officers BSc Security Studies
We are looking to expand our team of dedicated Student Information Officers for the BSc Security Studies!
Description
As a Student Information Officer, you will be an integral part of the Student Ambassador & Student Information Officers team, currently comprising 3 Student Ambassadors and 8 Student Information Officers. In this role, you will interact with prospective students and their parents, providing accurate and engaging information about our programme and student life at Leiden University. You will participate in events such as Experience Days, Open Days, student-for-a-day activities, and high school visits, acting as a representative of the BSc Security Studies and highlighting the academic opportunities available.
You will collaborate with a diverse group, including fellow Student Ambassadors, other Student Information Officers, the Faculty of Governance and Global Affairs, and the Institute for Security and Global Affairs. Additionally, you will work closely with the communication teams of Leiden University and the study coordinator of the Bachelor of Security Studies.
Your profile
We are looking for first, and second-year students from the BSc Security Studies who are enthusiastic about their studies and have the following qualities:
- Strong communication and social skills
- A reliable and responsible work ethic
- A polished and professional appearance
- An open and approachable attitude
- The ability to relate well to prospective students and their parents
Term of employment
The candidate will be available to start on Monday 13 October 2025 and commit to the role for at least one year. Availability during key recruitment activities – many of which take place on Saturdays – is essential.
The employment contract will be arranged via Jobmotion, a temporary employment agency. In return for your contributions, you will receive financial compensation for each activity in which you participate, as well as the opportunity to gain valuable experience in an international academic environment.
To be eligible, you must hold a valid work permit (if applicable) and Dutch health insurance.
