Want to grow your international network and make an impact on the future of higher education? Then this fully-funded opportunity is for you!

Apply by 21 September to be one of six bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD students who will represent Leiden University at Una Europa’s sixth Student Congress, taking place in Paris on 25-28 November.

If selected, you’ll travel to Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. There you’ll come together with students from across Europe to explore how universities can build student communities that are strong and interconnected.

Participation is free for selected students, and travel costs will be covered by Leiden University.

Why this opportunity?

Leiden University is part of Una Europa, an alliance of 11 leading European universities. That means this opportunity is open to all Leiden University and LUMC (PhD) students who want to connect across cultures and help shape the future of higher education.

Theme: Global Minds, Local Impact

This year’s Student Congress will explore how student initiatives can strengthen our shared community and inspire meaningful change throughout society. Key questions include:

• What does student engagement truly mean?
• How can we improve student engagement initiatives across the alliance and share best practices?
• How can Una Europa connect local student communities?

During workshops, roundtables, and cultural activities, you’ll share experiences, learn from others, and help build a stronger Una Europa student network.

After the Congress, you’ll keep the Una Europa spirit going by being part of our Local Student Taskforce here at Leiden University.

Who can apply?

You can apply if you:

• Are a student or PhD candidate at Leiden University or LUMC
• Can communicate comfortably in English.
• Are excited to connect with students across cultures and backgrounds.

How to apply

You can apply for the Student Congress on the Una Europa website. The deadline for applications is 21 September 2025 at 23.59 CEST. Successful applicants will be notified by 22 October 2025.
