Starting from 1 September there will be recycling machines at two university locations where you can return your deposit-paid bottles or cans. The deposit will be paid back via the Tikkie app, or you can choose to donate it to a charity: The Plastic Soup Foundation.

Working with Statiegeld Nederland, the UFB has installed two machines for returning bottles and cans on which you have paid a deposit. This pilot is part of the efforts to increase the proportion of deposit-paid packaging returned for recycling and reduce litter. By separating waste, we are using raw materials, energy and money in a sustainable way.

The machines can be found near to the restaurant in the Lipsius Building in Leiden and at Wijnhaven in The Hague.
