Publish on the Leiden Law Blog!
Have you just started a bachelor’s or master’s degree? Keen to do a bit more and get a first publication on your CV? Why not write about a current issue for the Leiden Law Blog?
The Leiden Law Blog is a platform on Leiden Law School’s website where researchers, lecturers and students contribute to current discussions on relevant topics at our faculty related to law, criminology and economics. A chance to share knowledge and insights in a clear and accessible way.
A blog is a short, accessible piece of writing that can be followed by a wide audience. You share your personal views on various topics and write under your own name. Check out the Leiden Law Blog for recent examples. Have you seen something on the news that you have an opinion about and to which you can add something having studied the subject? Is there an important day or special anniversary approaching you’d like to comment on? You could write a blog about that too!

Note: Students must have their blog read and approved by a supervisor at the faculty (e.g. a lecturer).
How do I write a good blog?
A good blog is not the same as an academic piece of writing. To the right of this page, you can read instructions for students. These include the requirements your blog must meet and guidelines to follow. The main things to remember are:
- The word limit for a Leiden Law Blog is 800.
- The text should be accessible to readers who are less familiar with the topic.
- The topic should deal with a current issue.
