Job opportunity: Faculty of Archaeology student member in the Leiden University Student platform (LUS) 2026-2027

28 April 2026

For the academic year of 2026-2027 the Leiden University Student Platform (LUS) is looking for new faculty representatives. As a LUS faculty member you will be part of a student think tank, organizing student meetings, collaborating with a broad group of students and representing the experiences of students from the Faculty of Archaeology within the LUS. You can apply until the 14th of May.

About the LUS

The Leiden University Student Platform (LUS) is a student-led think tank composed of eight members, seven representatives of each Faculty and a Chair. A core role of the LUS is to obtain input from fellow students, via surveys, panel discussions and brainstorm sessions throughout the year. Several times a year, the LUS organizes meetings for all interested students to discuss and brainstorm concerning student well-being, internationalization, growing use of technology in education (AI), and academic freedom, amongst others. The insights and ideas collected during these meetings will be communicated to the Executive Board and other relevant organs at the University. The platform is also responsible for awarding the Leiden Teaching Prize during the opening of the academic year, which was awarded in 2025 to dr. Arjan Louwen! The LUS-representative maintains close ties with the faculty's student assessor. The workload of a faculty representative is about 2-3 hours per week, for which the university provides financial compensation.
