Vacancy: Student tutors– Master Public Administration

For the Master’s programme Public Administration, we are looking for three student tutors to support new and prospective Master’s students of the tracks:

  • International and European Governance
  • Economics and Governance
  • Public Management and Leadership

As a student tutor, you are responsible for creating a professional community among Master’s students in the full-time tracks. For example, by organizing guest lectures, career and networking events and, if desired, social gatherings for students. At the same time, you inform students about educational facilities, answer their questions and refer them to other relevant departments within Leiden University.

In addition, you are involved in organizing visits to institutions and organisations in The Hague, which are also part of the track-challenges within the programme.

You will do this in close cooperation with, among others, the specialisation coordinators, internal departments and external stakeholders of Leiden University. This combined role offers a great opportunity to gain experience within the university and expand your network.

Profile

  • You are enrolled in the Master’s programme Public Administration, starting at least in February 2026.
  • You are keen to contribute to building a professional student community.
  • You are looking for an additional challenge with manageable tasks alongside your other commitments.
  • You enjoy organising activities and involving the right people.
  • You work independently, are reliable and have a proactive attitude.
  • You are available from September 2026 to July 2027 (or February if you graduate in January 2027) for an average of 3 hours per week, with a remuneration of €19.04 gross per hour, including holiday allowance (8%), year-end bonus (8.3%) and paid-out holiday hours.
