From the start of the new academic year 2026–2027, all staff and students will be asked again to show their LU-Card at the entrance to the KOG.

Until Friday 2 October 2026 at the latest, if you are a new student you will be allowed to present the following as proof of registration at the entrance (on your phone) :

• your timetable on the Leiden University app; or
• the email from the OIC showing your tutor group number; or
• your enrolment status in Studielink (please log in before entering the KOG).

From Monday 5 October 2026, new students must also show their LU-Card at the entrance. When applying for your LU-Card, please be aware that there is a processing time of approximately two weeks. So, apply for your LU-Card as soon as possible, by 18 September at the latest. We ask staff and students here to point this out to new students if necessary.

This measure ensures that only authorised people can enter the KOG building. It ensures we can offer everyone a pleasant study and working environment. To keep the flow of people at the entrance moving smoothly, please have your proof of registration or your LU-Card ready when you arrive at the entrance.
