Arts and leisure - Visual arts
5 lessons op Friday from 10:00-12:30
- Mathea Westerveld
This course is for everyone who wants to draw between flower and plants. Experience is not necessary!
The course is given in Dutch, but the teacher will explain in English individually.
In this 5 x 2,5 hour course you learn to draw to the perception. We draw alternately in the Hortus * in Leiden and in the LAK workshop (atelier). You will be surprised by the most special flowers and plants and you will learn how to draw powerful shapes and lines, the correct proportions and shadows. We also pay attention to creating exciting color combinations and balanced compositions.
We work with water color paint and will also do short assignments with other materials such as fine liner and colored pencil. Here too, flowers and plants are central. In the final lesson we look at typography and complete your botanical illustration with the name of the flower or plant in a matching font.
* acces to the Hortus is not included in the course price>
LEI-students, museum card holders and Friends of the Hortus have free access.
LEI-employees pay € 2,50, others pay € 8 per visit.
