Mathea Westerveld

For whom
This course is for anyone who wants to to learn how to illustrate. Experience with drawing or illustrating is not necessary.

The course is given in Dutch, but the teacher will explain in English individually.

In these lessons you will learn how to convert content into a powerful image. For example, you will make illustrations for a newspaper article and a self-chosen story. In addition, you make an illustrative product such as a postcard or a poster and you work on a self-chosen theme.

We will experiment with many different materials and techniques such as ink, (color) pencil, fineliner, watercolor paint, gouache / acrylic paint and collage techniques. We get out inspiration by other illustrators.

This course takes place every two weeks, of which 5 x physically at the LAK. The next week you will work at home with your homework.
In the week that you do not have a physical lesson, there is a feedback option by sending a photo of the work made by mail or whats app. The teacher will provide short feedback to help you move on to the next lesson.
Homework: min: 1-2 hours

Physical lesson dates: 16 & 30 Sep | 14 Oct | 4 & 18 Nov
