Ink and Watercolor: The Play with Brush and Water
Wednesday from 14:00-16:30 h
- Teacher
- Saskia Masselink
For whom
For beginners and those with some drawing and painting experience.
Content
Based on the principles of Sumi-e (Japanese brush techniques), you will learn how to leave a maximum impression on the paper with minimal brushstrokes and smudges.
Sense of Space: In the Sumi-e technique, the empty space is just as important as the subject itself.
In addition to working with ink (sumi), we combine Japanese paper with watercolor paper and combine techniques with the transparent beauty of watercolor paint.
The foundation of our work lies in animal and plant subjects and still life in its purest form, as well as exploring free expression.
Working with ink and watercolor in free expression is an intuitive way of painting where the interplay of water, pigment, and liquid ink takes center stage. It involves letting go of perfection and leaving things to chance.
Materials are provided during the lessons. You must purchase materials for home use yourself.
You can ask the instructor for advice regarding this.
