EXHIBITION STUDENTS PAINTING WORKSHOP with Lyda Bekker from 9-28 May 2025 - FESTIVE OPENING  9 Mei from 16:00-18:00 h.

The artworks are made during the painting workshop, where the students already have (basic) painting skills. They work independently on their own chosen subjects, with ideas and sources of inspiration varying per person: photos from a holiday, a domestic still life, portrait photos of loved ones and so on. One works from fantasy, another takes a (own) photo as a starting point and a third practices on the work of an old master, for example. The teacher helps with choosing a subject or the choice of material and provides individual guidance where necessary during the creation process. It is surprising and fun to see who participates in this course: young and old, beginners and advanced, sometimes with a complete art education behind them. This mix of students ensures the necessary interaction and a stimulating environment.

About the teacher
After working in the business world for seven years, Lyda Bekker took the entrance exam at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. She also studied for several months in New York at the School of Visual Arts. In 2000, she completed her art education. Since then, she has worked as a visual artist and teacher.
