In this workshop, you will draw Leiden’s weavers' cottages.
We will head out into the beautiful city of Leiden in search of these cottages.

You will draw using basic materials such as pen, pencil, and eraser. Both technical and creative aspects of drawing will be covered.
Examples include creating a line drawing, working with tone (light/dark), and setting up a composition. Considerable attention will also be paid to perspective.

By drawing in the city, you will learn to look at your surroundings differently and notice things you wouldn't normally see.

Use of materials is included in the workshop.

In the event of rain, we will find a sheltered spot under a canopy or bridge.

Teacher
The workshop is led by visual artist Robbert Kiewiet, a graduate of the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) specializing in fine art.
Robbert has over 15 years of teaching experience. He has taught at the art academy for 10 years, worked as an instructor for *Beelden in Leiden* for 4 years, and conducted painting courses in Spain for 5 years. Additionally, Robbert has been providing painting workshops for companies and groups since 1998.
