Training Relax with mindfulness

Do you suffer from stress, tension, sleeping problems or anxiety due to the pressure of studying. During the group training “Relax with mindfulness”, you will learn how to deal with stress and how to apply mindfulness in your life.

Daily mindfulness practices results in improved concentration, stress reduction and effective communication. It helps you to become more active with a clear mindset, which can benefit your studies. It gives space to feel your own boundaries and to be more capable of reflecting on your behavior and feelings. So you can listen better to yourself and what you need, to feel less stressed.

Training content

  • Psycho-education about how to deal in a healthy way with stress.
  • Learn to apply Mindfulness in daily life by practicing on a daily bases with a workbook ‘A mindfulness – Based Stress reduction workbook’ from B. Stahl and E. Goldstein.
  • Learn to apply Mindfulness in daily life by practicing on a daily bases with a workbook ‘A mindfulness – Based Stress reduction workbook’ from B. Stahl and E. Goldstein.
  • Awareness of the impact of stress on your behavior, thoughts and feelings • Learning to let go of stress and focus on the here and now.
  • The group works with homework assignments and daily practicing with mindfulness. This way you learn to apply the method independently as much as possible.

Registration

Students can register via the consultation hours of the student psychologists. Please note that there may be a waiting period before you can join group sessions. Additional information about the training can be requested by sending an email to psychologen@sea.leidenuniv.nl.
