Confidential Contact Persons

Content of the training

How to treat one another and how to prevent undesirable behaviour are important social issues. Confidential contact persons (CCPs) within student organisations play a role in monitoring and promoting a climate of dignity and respect within associations. The CCP is primarily someone who can offer a listening ear, then refer students to the university's confidential counsellor, the Complaints Committee, or external parties such as the police or a GP.

What will you learn?

Participants will:

  • Understand the role of a confidential contact person
  • Know how to handle confidentiality
  • Be able to conduct an initial intake interview
  • Be able to navigate this role in relation to other roles
  • Know where to refer students and understand how to collaborate with the university’s confidential person.
  • Have a clear understanding of what further actions they can take within their own student association, so that the student association can further develop its policy on conduct and work toward promoting a socially safe environment

For who?

(Future) confidential contact persons within the student organization.

Please note: You are not eligible to take the CCP training if you hold a position on the board or a role involving a power dynamic within the student organization (such as sanctions, maintaining order, or coaching).
