Study support - Student organisation boards

Introductory session for association boards: well-being and social safety

On 2 September, future board members of associations connected to Leiden University will gather for a central introduction event focused on well-being and social safety.

Aim of the session

This afternoon features an interactive workshop and offers concrete tools to help you confidently fulfill your future role as a board member. Through this programme, as an upcoming board member, you will lay the foundation for the year ahead: exploring how you will fulfil your role and how you and the board will contribute to a supportive and safe environment.

  • Gain insight into the roles and responsibilities of a board member regarding well-being and social safety, as well as where to set boundaries
  • Learn to handle difficult situations and improve your support skills: recognise signs, take action, and know when to refer someone
  • Learn what actions you (as an individual and board member) can take yourself to improve the social safety within the association
  • Discover what support services are available to you, the association, and its members during this board year

Who is this for?

While not all board members may be available to participate, it is highly recommended that those responsible for matters such as social safety, well-being, and communication with members and committees attend.

Note: Did you attend the study associations’ orientation day on June 10 or the PKvV’s LOW Day on June 18? If so, you’ve already taken the workshop offered here.

  • 15:00–17:00: Main Programme
  • 17:00–17:30: Informal conversation & Get-together
