THE LONG HAUL: FILM SCREENING AND CONVERSATION ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS CHALLENGES 2020
Inspired by the life of the late Sir Nigel Rodley – one of the principal architects of the modern human rights framework – the documentary The Long Haul addresses the current backlash on human rights and how best to respond. The screening will be followed by a conversation with the audience about current challenges the human rights framework is facing and responses to them. The discussion will feature Helen Duffy, Professor of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at the University of Leiden and director of Human Rights in Practice, and filmmaker Victor Fokke. Nadja Houben, producer of the film and director of Human Rights in the Picture will moderate the evening.
Please register for the event by sending an email to grotiuscentre@law.leidenuniv.nl before 23 January.
