Boundaries, Communication & Consent
- Thursday 10 December 2020
As part of the Orange the World Campaign 2020, Care Leiden in collaboration with Leiden University's Diversity and Inclusion Expertise Office is organising an online workshop to increase awareness and prevention of violence against women. The workshop will given by the Our Bodies Our Voice Foundation.
The Our Bodies Our Voice Foundation raises awareness about sexual violence and transforms consent culture within universities in the Netherlands to create safer environments for students and staff alike. We believe in the necessity of fostering skills of empathy, active listening, and critical introspection in both personal and professional lives.
Aim of this workshop
This workshop aims to help students gain a better understanding of their own personal boundaries and how to communicate them in social situations. Some of the topics that will be addressed are the diversity of experiences people have, the ways in which our unique personal identities and situations shape our boundaries, and how we understand those of others. The workshop will increase students' ability to have constructive dialogues around consent, as well as teach basic skills concerning help-seeking and providing support to others.
All University leiden students and staff are welcome to join - the space is limited so make sure you sign up early! To participate, please sign up with this form. You will receive a link to the workshop shortly before 10 December.
