Presenting yourself clearly and effectively is an essential part of applying for work. In this workshop you will get a clear view on how to display your knowledge, skills and competences on your LinkedIn profile.

During the workshop you will get many examples and practical tips, so that by the end you will know how to attract the attention of employers and get invited for an interview!

Who can participate?
Students enrolled at Leiden University and alumni up to one year after graduation. This workshop is given in English.

Trainer:
Sophie Blok, Career Service FSW

Sometimes it feels like everyone around you has finished three internships, two masters and had time left to do volunteer work in the summers. In short, everybody seems to be more prepared than you to start that first job. Of course this isn’t true, but it can be the source of a stressful feeling. In this workshop we will talk about the origin of the stress and you will learn how to deal better with this pressure. We will also define what your first step can be to start looking for that graduate job, internship or project.

Trainer:
Eva van der Meer, Career Service FSW

Wednesday 23 November 2022

What knowledge, skills and qualities do you already have to distinguish yourself on the job market? It can be difficult to see this in yourself, because it is very normal for you and you may always act in this way. This workshop is intended for students and recent graduates who want to get a better picture of themselves and how to use this in their (study) career.

The aim of this workshop is to gain insight into your knowledge, competences and qualities. Before you know well which (career) job suits you and you can work on it, it is good to have a clear picture of yourself. Outlined by some theory about the labor market and personal development, the focus of this workshop will be on exercises to clarify what you have to offer. This self-knowledge helps you make effective study and career choices.

Who can participate?
Students enrolled at Leiden University and alumni up to one year after graduation. This workshop is given in English.

Trainer:
Eva van der Meer, Career Service FSW

Have you thought about your ambitions after graduation? It might help to get to know different work fields when deciding about your first steps unto the job market. The Career Service FSW regularly organizes a Career College on working in a specific field. During this CareerCollege alumni of Leiden University will talk about what it's like to be working at an NGO.

The goal of this Career College is to inform you about the career perspectives. Alumni of Leiden University will present their career paths and their current jobs.
Are you curious to know what it is like to work at an NGO?  What kind of career paths are possible? What capabilities and characteristics are necessary? During this session there will be plenty of opportunity for participants to ask questions.
