How Money Reaches People: Valorising the Classical Research Agenda Anchoring Innovation through Coinage.
'How do we present our research in Ancient History to a larger public? I present two research 'stories' that aim to be both academic but also relatable and interesting for a larger target group. In this talk I would like to discuss the content of these stories (late Celtic and Third Century coinage, anchoring innovation), but more so discuss our engagement as Ancient Historians with a larger audience, ways to do so and platforms to present it.'

Carlos Enríquez de Salamanca (MA student):

Reshaping Identity by Omission: The Exclusion of Cincinnatus and L. Brutus from the Summi Viri.
'Selection, necessarily, implies exclusion. The Summi Viri of the Forum of Augustus were supposed to present to the audience an ideal example of what the emperor ought to be. This research looks into the exclusion of some early Republican heroes from the monument, and what this might tell us about Augustan presentation of imperial power and its/his issues with the Republican past and historiography.
