For whom?

Scholars and students with a broad and diverse expertise in the histories, languages, literatures and material cultures relevant to the study of Jews and Judaism from antiquity to modern times are welcome to join.

Programme day 1 - Wednesday 6 December

Reception and Keynote Panel:
'Home as Haven? Narratives of Crises and the Jewish Past'

The panel will feature Professor Elisheva Baumgarten, Department of Jewish History and Contemporaneous Jewry, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Prof. Jurgen Zangenberg (Leiden University), Dr. Lital Abazon (Leiden University) and Dr. Rebekka Grossmann (Leiden University).

Presentation of the LJSA “Best Thesis in Jewish Studies” Award

For the first time, the Leiden Jewish Studies Association “Best Thesis in Jewish Studies” Award will be presented to authors of recent Leiden BA and (Res)MA theses dealing with Jewish Studies topics. Sarah Cramsey and Jurgen Zangenberg will award the prizes.
