Well-Being Moment: Workshop – Meditation for beginners

The 21st of May is World Meditation Day. For this special occasion we have organized a beginner's meditation workshop for students and staff in The Hague and Leiden. Meditation is an examination and training of your own mind that has been known for over 2000 years. Using the motto 'believe nothing, investigate everything for yourself', meditation offers an extremely intelligent way to explore your own inner world.

The fact that meditation brings calmness is something that is certainly not experienced often in the beginning. Initially, most people are rather surprised by the amount of thoughts and emotions that constantly pop up in the mind. It therefore requires some repetition to achieve the well-known benefits of meditation (calmness, focus, joie de vivre, etc.).

This workshop will introduce you to the basics of meditation, the sitting position, the state of your mind and perhaps you can also start to experience what it is like if you do not go along with your usual thought patterns. The workshop starts with a short explanation, followed by moving meditation and sitting meditation. At the end there is room for questions and sharing our experiences.

This workshop is an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with meditation and discover its positive effects. We look forward to welcoming you to this enriching experience towards inner peace.
