Join BASIS Latin America and Interlatina for the screening of Retazos Móviles, a documentary that talks about the experience of Latin American women and non-binary people in the Netherlands.
As the film incorporates the famous Chilean tradition of textile craft known as Arpilleras and developed during the years of dictatorship, it portrays a strong connection between migration, community, and knowledge production. The story reflects on the reality of those who have been excluded from a bigger narrative, showing the beauty and the power of collective action.
This event is a part of collaboration with Paulina Rabah Ramírez, a lecturer for Culture & Language of Latin America, and Warmi Küyen, a feminist textile collective of Latin American artists that seeks to promote Andean culture and textile traditions in the Netherlands (@warmi_kuyen).
