Academic writing at university can be challenging. In this workshop, we will focus on the question of how to structure your academic paper and the arguments in it. Your teachers keep insisting on it: your text must have a clear structure! This makes sense, because a clear structure makes a text more pleasant to read and your arguments easier to understand; not only that, it also helps you, as a writer, to gather your thoughts and work more efficiently. In this workshop you will learn how to structure your text in a crystal clear way at both chapter and paragraph level, for example by using core sentences and signal words. In this way you will lift your academic writing skills to a higher level!
Please note: this workshop will be in Dutch and the minimum expected level for this workshop is Dutch level B1.
Potluck Dinner
After the workshop Academic Writing, Meeting Point is organizing a Potluck Spring Dinner. With a few snacks and drinks, we would like to celebrate this new beginning with you, reflect on the events of the past year and share our cultural stories around spring. The theme fot this Poltluck Spring Dinner will be 'Feeling Like Belonging'.
The Potluck Spring Dinner will be from 17:00 – 21:00 and will also be held at Plexus Student Centre, Kaiserstraat 25, 2311 GN Leiden.
Both events are free, but registration is required.
