As part of the Leiden – Edinburgh Global Law Summer Course, The Hague Global Futures Hub will host a series of roundtable discussions focused on Global Legal Practice and the future of the legal profession in The Hague.
Climate change and environmental protection have been the terrain in which public interest resolution and advocacy have become most visible in contemporary global affairs.
This panel brings together legal practitioners at the forefront of climate change litigation as well as academics working in this area, to create a platform of exchange on questions such: What is the point of strategic litigation in areas of public interest? What are the limits to courts’ decision-making? In which direction should academia work to support the end of securing climate and environmental protection?
Panelist:
Louise Fournier, Greenpeace
Helen Duffy, Leiden University
Floris Tan, Climate Litigation Network
Zaky Hubber, Freshwater law consultant
